University of Dayton
The University of Dayton is offering a Leadership in Service Scholarship. Interested students must have a passion for personal development and a commitment to service. This scholarship, for students admitted to UD, is worth $10,000 ($2,500 per year for four years). The students selected will also be eligible to receive a University of Dayton merit scholarship, which can be worth up to $88,000 over four years. Interested students see Mr. Sims in the counselors' office.

U.S. Presidential Scholars Program
The United States (U.S.) Presidential Scholars Program honors graduating seniors for their outstanding scholarship, achievement and promise of future success. Seniors chosen as U.S. Presidential Scholars are selected by the Commission on Presidential Scholars and will receive an all-expense paid trip to Washington, D.C. where they will be presented with a medallion at a ceremony in their honor. While there, the students will engage with accomplished people and participate in conversations and events over issues that concern America and the world. The Texas commissioner of education will nominate 10 male and 10 female candidates to apply for the honor.

1) NSU is offering an automatic out of state waiver for attending a high school in a county that borders Louisiana. This is an offer worth $43,152 over 4 years.

All students planning to attend college should complete a fafsa application in order to be eligible for some scholarships. Please remember that filling out this application does not cost. Please go to www.fafsa.gov to begin this process as early as October 1. Any special circumstances for financial assistance will need to be discussed directly with the university that your student plans to attend.
