Access Transition Fair 2017
Access Transition Fair aims to provide local junior and senior high school students with disabilities an opportunity to discover state and community resrources as well as regional post secondary education options.

I will be out of the office to attend a counseling conference February 12-14. If you should need anything filled out by me by one of these dates then please get it me as soon as possible as this conference is out of town so I will not be able to come by and complete last minute paperwork.
Texas A & M
Juniors and Seniors: The Beaumont A & M Club would like to invite area high school juniors and seniors to their February 28th meeting. It will be held at St. Jude Thaddeus Parish in Beaumont, in the Gym (rear of parish complex) at 6:30 P.M. A complimentary dinner will be served to students and their family at 7 P.M.. The meeting will introduce campus representatives from Texas A & M University Office of Student Affairs, Corps of Cadets, Financial Aid Office, and the Cooperative Education Department. Seniors will have the opportunity to apply for two $10,000 scholarships and several Opportunity Scholarships ranging from $1,500 to $2,000 to Texas A & M University. Students or their immediate family must attend this meeting to receive the scholarship application. If you need anything further, pick up information in your counselors’ office.
KOCH Pipeline Scholarship
Koch Pipeline Company is excited to announce our Outstanding Student Scholarship Program for the 2017 school year! The program recognizes and rewards outstanding 12th grade students who want to pursue a career in the field of science, technology, engineering, mathematics (STEM) and/or agriculture with a one-time, non-renewable $1,500 scholarship. Our goal is to recognize local seniors who are graduating in May 2017. Eligible recipients are students who are performing at or near their best potential and who display qualities such as leadership, character, self-motivation and a strong work ethic. Criteria for determining the scholarship recipients are as follows: 
Demonstrated academic success in science, technology, engineering, mathematics and/or agriculture  Career and Technology Education students in one or more of the following programs: Welding,Precision Metal Manufacturing,Construction Technology, Engineering and Design Presentation 
Proven leadership skills 
Interest and aptitude in entrepreneurship 
Attending college, technical school or university beginning in the Fall 2017 semester
*May pick up application in the counseling office. Due by March 8, 2017

Planning to pursue a degree in engineering or a two-year process technology degree? Stop by the Counselors' office and pick up an application for the TPC Group Mark of Excellence Scholarship. Deadline is January 30, 2017.

Texas State Business Visit Days are designed to provide you with insight into the academics and cultural environment at Texas State.

October 1, 2016 students may begin the fafsa application process. It is important to apply as soon as possible since money is given on a first come first serve, need basis. All students planning to attend college should complete a fafsa application in order to be eligible for some scholarships. Please remember that filling out this application does not cost. Please go to www.fafsa.gov to begin this process as early as October 1. Any special circumstances for financial assistance will need to be discussed directly with the university that your student plans to attend.

Students interested in University of Houston may join UH for Cougar Preview — our largest open house for future studentsSaturday, Nov. 19, 2016 or Saturday, April 1, 2017!

These are great times for students to get a preview of the UH experience! Students may register at #UHCougarPreview, students will be able to:
  • See the 667-acre campus, including a sneak peek of the residence halls
  • Learn about the admission requirements, academic programs and campus life
  • Interact with faculty, staff and current students

Texas A&M University Engineering
The Texas A&M Society of Women Engineers presents, Texas A&M University Finding Engineering. This event will be held January 27, 2017-January 28, 2017. Registration is open from 10/10/16-11/19/2016. Financial Aid
Students may begin applying for fafsa beginning October 1, 2016. If a student is planning on attending college in the 2017-2018 school year it is important to apply for fafsa as close to the October 1 opening date as possible. Please see the attached document under "important senior documents" entitled "2017-2018 Fafsa update" for more information.
